Why would you use a weight lifting belt?
There really is no right or wrong when it comes to wearing Lifting Belts. It’s totally a matter of personal opinion and what support you feel your body needs.
Weight Lifting Belts are recommended to use when you are exerting yourself and lifting weight that is testing your limits. Another opinion is that you should not only wear a weight belt when pushing heavy weight, but to also use a belt when feeling fatigued. Injuries can and do occur when you are tired, as you can easily become complacent.
Belts come in a range of styles, from the traditional tapered leather belts to the lightweight Neoprene training belts. Both these belts are available in two widths, 4inch and 6inch.
Powerlifting belts which are only available in one width 4inch end to end, come in Lever Buckle, Single Prong and Quick Release Buckle.
